The Legacy of Langston, a multi-disciplinary salute to Langston Hughes, featuring popular collaborators singer/actor Charles Williams and percussionist/composer Tom Teasley. Few poets captured the 20th century African American experience with the depth and sensitivity of Langston Hughes. Charles Williams and Tom Teasley, the artists of the internationally renowned duo, Word-Beat, pay homage to Hughes' lyrical mastery in The Legacy of Langston. Through song, words and percussion, Word-Beat enlivens the poet’s words, highlighting their ever-present rhythm and syncopation. Join these exquisite collaborators, whose performances that bring writers’ words to life have been seen across the country and around the world. A perfect introduction to the work of Langston Hughes – a just as perfect coming home to a well-loved poet friend. http://www.word-beat.com/ Purchase tickets to Word-Beat: The Legacy of Langston
