The Second Annual Couture for a Cure Runway Show, benefiting the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, will be at the Kogod Lobby of the Woolly Mammoth Theatre in DC’s vibrant Penn Quarter neighborhood benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
Sponsored by Microsoft and Niche Media’s Capitol File Magazine, this year’s Couture for a Cure will honor former cancer survivors with a runway presentation hosted by master and mistress of ceremonies WJLA News reporter Scott Thuman and Hot 99.5 personality Sarah Fraser.
Couture for a Cure celebrates the triumphs and hurdles of former cancer survivors, who will be honored with a tribute to those lost and a celebration of those who’ve beat cancer. This year’s honorees have contributed greatly to the Washington community through their involvement in philanthropy, entertainment and business. The 2010 Couture for a Cure honorees are Accenture Senior Executive Ken Dineen, Peacock Café owners Shahab and Micky Farivar, the 2009 LLS Man & Woman of the Year Hap Peden and Ari Jones, who raised a combined total of over $200,000 towards LLS, and Jennifer Harlow of the Tigerlily Foundation.

Regular Ticket: $75 includes open bar from 7 to 10pm and admission to Couture for a Cure after party. VIP Ticket: $125 includes VIP reception from 6:30 to 7pm, access to the VIP lounge, open bar from 6:30 to 10pm, VIP seating for fashion show, discounted parking, and admission to Couture for a Cure after party.

Couture for a Cure is the creation of Nadine Namoff and her husband Bryan Namoff, a DC United soccer player, who as part of their commitment to raising funds for her 2009 Woman of the Year Campaign to benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS), assembled local designers to outfit an impressive cast of local athletes, models and cancer survivors to walk the runway for a cure to raise over $20,000 and gather an impressive turnout of more than 450 guests.
