100 days after the devastating January 12 Earthquake in Haiti, the immediate suffering of crushed lives and limbs has subsided, giving way to a wider tide of calamities as the heavy rain season begins. Well over one million Haitian have lost their homes and many are living unprotected from the elements, on open fields, in public parks, and in spontaneously built refugee camps where men with guns rule.

While Haiti may have slipped from the news, there remains an incredible amount of work to be done and a myriad number of organizations on the ground in Haiti helping the recovery efforts.

DC Loves Haiti has been twice delayed (by epic snowfall!), and it has given us the opportunity to look closely at aid groups in Haiti to select three outstanding organizations delivering much-needed relief to Haitians transparently and effectively.

This Saturday, DC (Still) Loves Haiti will show the Haitian people that DC is not numb to their fate and we will continue to support the massive undertaking to literally rebuild their society from the rubble and ruins of the Earthquake’s wake.

Please join our team of co-hosts for an evening of music, education, an all-woman drumming group, and a wide cross-section of dynamic folks like yourself from across D.C.

1) Partners in Health: The most trusted organization in Haiti focused on treating the most marginalized and neglected communities.

2) World Vision: An international Christian relief organization doing critical relief work in Haiti.

3) KOVAVIF: An organization established and administered by women victims of domestic and political violence.

$10-$25 sliding scale donations.
