Submitted by Ron Williams on June 17, 2009 - 12:07amLearn the tricks of the trade and become the prince of pork as BLT Steak hosts an exclusive cooking class. Chef de Cuisine Victor Albisu leads an interactive class featuring the different uses and techniques for preparing pork.
Priced at $100 per person, inclusive of tax and tip, the afternoon includes instruction as well as a decadent four-course lunch with complimentary signature cocktail and BLT's renowned popovers.
Guests will be enlightened with tips and tricks that will have them preparing charcuterie, cutting bacon, and pairing pork-based dishes with the perfect flavors. Held in BLT's sleek dining room, the cooking class will also feature a whole spit-roasted pig prepared on the restaurant's sidewalk patio. Watch and learn as Albisu leads guests through butchering techniques and highlights dishes utilizing every aspect of the animal, including house-made Chorizo and a variety of Charcuterie items.
Albisu combines his own knowledge of Cuban and Peruvian preparations with the classic French techniques of Executive Chef and BLT Restaurant Group Partner Laurent Tourondel to showcase a diverse range of pork dishes. In addition to receiving recipes and tip sheets reviewed in the class, Chef Tourondel's latest cookbook, Bistro Laurent Tourondel, will also be available for purchase during this special afternoon event.
