Snowball Fight!

The Ellipse
Submitted by Greg on February 5, 2010 - 10:31pmIt's time for a good 'ol fashion snowball fight! And with 20 inches of snow to play with, the number of snow ball fights planned for Saturday in DC just keep snowballin'!
But, as the snow settles, 2 epic battles appear to be emerging:
1. UPDATE: NOW SUNDAY (NOT SATURDAY) 2PM: Battle Snowpocalypse: A Friendly Public DC Snowball Fight** (Noon): Meet at The Ellipse (15th & E NW, by The White House). Two sides; one field! Hear the whistle blow and everyone charges towards the other side while dodging and slinging snowballs. Each barrage of snow throwing will last until everyone is out of balls then retreat for more ammo. Get there early to build your ammo and be ready to charge the middle at noontime. After the fun at the Ellipse we shall all go to a local bar or restaurant for some food and drinks.
2. The Official Dupont Circle Snowball Fight** (2pm):
The great battle of Dupont North vs Dupont South will convene at the northern and southern ends of Dupont Circle Park at 2pm. What to bring: good cheer, team spirit, snowball-making skills – we want to keep this snowball fight CLEAN and SAFE for everyone! A small request: Let’s avoid pelting police officers, plainclothes detectives and vehicles, so as to avoid another international incident! For all other potential targets, use your common sense! (The ODCSF after-party will be at One Lounge (1606 20th St NW - right off Q St NW. It will open at 3pm with special drinks on offer, including Irish coffee and spiked apple cider. We’re told a limited food menu also will be available.) DISCLAIMER! We want YOU to be at the biggest, best (and safest!) snowball fight in Dupont Circle’s history, but remember – you’re engaging in the battle AT YOUR OWN RISK!

If you are not sure whether you will be able to enjoy throwing snowballs at other people and be hit with snowballs peacefully or whether you are not sure that it is healthy for you to participate in such an activity, please stay home.
