Vietti Wine Tasting

Cork Wine Bar
Submitted by Anita on July 13, 2009 - 2:34pmMeet Vietti Winemaker Luca Currado-Vietti and Taste His Award Winning Barolo and Barbaresco!!!
Luca will be pouring a selection of wines from his family's estate and talking about the region and the famous wines of the Piedmont.
Vietti is one of the most highly acclaimed wineries in Italy having received several of Italy's highest Tre Bicchieri awards including, the 2010 award for its Barolo Lazzarito 2005.
You will taste seven delicious white and red wines from Luca's family estate including:
Roero Arneis 2008
This wine was rediscovered by Vietti in the 1960s. Luca's father Alfredo is often referred to as the "father of Arneis" because he invested a lot of time to rediscover and understand this nearly-lost varietal. Today, Arneis is the most famous white wine from Roero area, north of Barolo. This wine has fresh floral and citrus aromas with great acidity and citrus flavors.
Barbaresco Masseria 2004
This beautiful, complex wine is a classic representation of the varietal. 100% Nebbiolo, the Masseria has a wonderful nose of perfume, fruit and dried fig. It is a full-bodied wine with balanced tannins and a long finish.
Barolo Brunate 2005
One of the finest examples of Barolo this vintage. This wine is rich and full-bodied with ripe raspberry, plum and strawberry aromas and flavors. It has well-developed tannins and is a powerful yet polished wine. The 2005 is a wine that can be enjoyed now, and will also develop and mature with aging.
This tasting is $50 and attendance will be limited to ensure the comfort and enjoyment of our guests.
PLEASE NOTE: A selection of these wines will be reserved for tasting guests only to purchase at Cork Market, including autographed bottles of limited edition Barolo and Barbaresco!!
