Chef Daniel Bortnick and the culinary team at Firefly will serve a five-course prix fixe menu on Valentine’s Day for $75 per person. 

All guests will begin with a glass of sparkling wine paired with Medjool dates stuffed with blue cheese and wrapped in bacon. 

Second course options include a choice of roasted apple and celery root soup with apple butter and toasted cashews; salt roasted baby beets with Cherry Glen goat cheese, Sicilian pistachio, fig vinegar and micro arugula; steak tartare with egg in a bread basket, herb salad, poblano aioli and crispy tortilla strips; or grilled red wine poached octopus with avocado, olive aioli and roasted olive gremolata.

Third course options include butternut squash and porcini mushroom risotto with sage, pickled wild mushrooms and crispy parsnips; “corned” pork tenderloin with squash dumplings, caramelized Brussels sprouts and rutabaga purée; mini pot roast with braised baby carrots, Yukon gold mashed potatoes and roasted shallot jus; and jumbo lump crab cake with rosemary garlic shrimp, Anson Mill grits and shoestring sweet potatoes.

The fourth course features a choice of Roth Käse Gruyère Surchoix with spiced pecans, chestnut honey and micro cress or a blood orange and mint sorbet with a salty oat cookie. 

Desserts include a caramelized banana split (for two) with ginger, peanut butter and cinnamon-maple ice creams, red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting, chocolate pearls, cinnamon crème anglaise and chocolate sauce, a peanut butter ice cream “sandwich” made of flourless chocolate cake, bananas foster sauce, peanut brittle and sea salt, and nutella cheesecake with a chocolate covered pretzel bar, milk jam and cocoa nibs.
