'Unknown Pleasures' w/DJ Chris Price

'Unknown Pleasures' curator Chris Price offers up an option to locals who are looking to get out and hear some diverse dance-oriented music, but wish to avoid the usual DC "club scene".

Influenced in equal parts by classic party nights of the 80s/90s at venues like Paradise Garage and the Hacienda as well as modern New York City events thrown by the likes of DFA Records, ‘Unknown Pleasures’ intends to offer up an eclectic selection of music that is simultaneously underground and accessible.

Expect to hear a mix that will weave through a selection of classic house, indie/alternative electronic, synth-pop, and disco. Take note: top 40 and commercial hip-hop aren’t included on the ‘Unknown Pleasures’ menu, so if you’re hoping to get down to radio hits, you may have to look elsewhere.

No club scene, no cover, no dubstep, no trance. Come as you are, as long as "as you are" doesn't involve a spray tan or fist-pumping.
