English Country Dance in DC

Event Date:
Sunday, December 21, 2014 - 1:00pm to 4:00pm
RSVP Required
Cost:
$5.00

English Country Dance is a social, folk dance form, which has earliest documented instances in the late 16th century. English Country Dance (ECD) was popular well into the Baroque and Regency eras.

We gather to practice this dance form most Sundays. We are a small group who is looking to add to our numbers. If Old Town Alexandria or Glen Echo aren't convenient for you, but you're interested in learning and practicing ECD, consider whether a Georgetown location suits your needs!

If you're interested, please join us.

General Information

We meet most Sundays from 1PM to 2:45PM at The Dumbarton House in the Belle Vue Room.

Parking available in the parking lot; if full, please try street parking on 28th Street (north of Q) or P Street (one block south of Q) as best possible "bets".

Easy access via public transportation: the D2 and D6 buses run along Q St. and stop at the corner of 27th and Q Sts.; the G2 bus runs along P St and stops at 26th St. (1 block south); and both the Dupont Circle and the Foggy Bottom Metro stations are no more than a 15-minute walk away.

The fee is $5 per session, which directly benefits Dumbarton House. No partner or experience necessary. All that's needed is a desire to have fun and the willingness to put your best (dance) foot forward!  You can sign up now, online, or simply bring $5 cash with you on the day of the event.
