Cuba Libre Restaurant & Rum Bar
One can savor four different signature Mamá Amelia’s Empanadas: Picadillo, De la Casa, Queso and Parisen for $1 each.
Then, throughout the month of April, Cuba Libre will showcase two special empanadas. From April 1st-12th, an Empanadas de Cerezas with goat cheese, sour cherries, toasted pistachio, and sweet cherry mostarda will be available, and from April 13th-21st a Total Eclipse Lobster Empanada – black corn shell, Maine lobster and coral butter, served with a mango escabeche salad and passion fruit-citrus mojo will be served. These specials are priced at $7.50 and $9 respectively, and are available during lunch and dinner service.
This year in addition to specials, Cuba Libre will host a cooking class, from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM, on Wednesday, April 15th. Priced at $65 per person, including tax and gratuity, the class affords 20 guests with the opportunity to learn how to make Cuba Libre's signature Mama Amelia's Empanadas as well as the Total Eclipse Lobster Empanada. Newly appointed Executive Chef Matt Zagorski, who works under the direction of two-time James Beard award-winning Chef-Partner Guillermo Pernot, will share the rich history of Cuban cuisine while teaching the art of creating homemade empanadas. Participants will enjoy a variety of empanadas, along with signature tapas dishes and a complimentary cocktail while they experience this unique hands-on cooking experience.
