The evening will showcase an array of powerful artistry and moving performances that will create a lasting experience and garner kudos from dance lovers. “This show is like the perfect storm where all the different facets of BMD converge,” says Lucy Bowen McCauley, Artistic Director and Founder of Bowen McCauley Dance. “On this small stage you will see a huge show involving the young, the old, the disabled, the professional, with live musicians and all for free.” This FREE and family fun event will feature three world premieres plus selections from Lucy's Playlist: -Novelletten No. 8:BMD dancers perform to this selection from Robert Schumann’s dynamic and moody opus, played by pianist Jeffery Watson. -If I Can't Dance: Lucy Bowen McCauley creates a unique new dance work for people with Parkinson's Disease who are taking part in BMD’s free movement classes offered around the metropolitan area. Award-winning Washington area folk singer Grace Griffith and her musician friends will perform. -Mambozart: Showcases a new work for the Kenmore Junior Company that celebrates the youthful joy of dance. Post performance fundraiser reception: Join us for a post-performance fete to meet and mingle with Lucy and her award-winning troupe while enjoying noteworthy cuisine at 600 Restaurant at the Watergate.
