During the National Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony, nationally known entertainers and a military band perform and the President brings a message of peace to the nation and the world.
Tickets: Free tickets are distributed each year through an online lottery. The lottery begins at 10 a.m. on Friday, October 17 and ends at 10 a.m. on Monday, October 20. To apply for the lottery, visit

There are 3,000 seated tickets and 14,000 standing room tickets available through the lottery. Emails will be sent after November 3 to the lottery winners with instructions for printing tickets.
