The
Recycle Denim Maniacs Show at the Embassy of Sweden (also known as the “House of Sweden”) on the Georgetown waterfront was a perfect mix of Swedish rock and roll, a beautiful rooftop view and lots and lots of denim!
While rocking to the tunes of Swedish rock band, Division of Laura Lee, we enjoyed an exciting runway fashion show presented by
Nudie Jeans, a Swedish jeans company which uses 100% organic cotton in the production of their jeans, and who collaborated with
Amnesty International for the evening’s event. The fashion show, which had models walking a runway from the huge staircase to around the main floor, ranged from casual men and women’s jeans from Nudie’s Fall/Winter 2008 collection to some
very elaborate gowns, all made from recycled denim!
At the show’s O
fficial After Party, guests sipped on cocktails on all three levels of the
Embassy, including that famous spectacular rooftop, while listening to the beats of
DJs HejHej DC. Inside, we warmed up from the slowly cooling outdoor temperatures by dancing to the music and video visuals of Reehee & Shred. And to top the evening off, the Division of Laura Lee drew quite the crowd with another exciting appearance on the main floor!
